Some places just heal the soul! My best efforts with my camera, Northumberland is just stunning, walked miles, exploring the coastal path, eating far to much food at the local pub in Craster!

Sylvie, just woke up and looked at your stunning images. That said I went back and looked at them a second time but took longer to look inside the images. Really beautiful place and thanks for sharing. Geoff. Have a lovely day whatever you are up too..

Perfect Sunday, play out with Autumn, back home to clean her tack, Albion GP Saddle and Schockemohle bridle, only the best for my girl! Finished with a big family roast dinner and a glass of red! The simple things in life keep me happy, family! Oh and gin!! 🤣 enjoy your bank holiday everyone. 😍

Back under the saddle and out for a fabulous hack! Foot perfect too! We had a thoroughly good time. One thing I love about hacking out with her is the people we meet. Everyone stops to say hello, stroke Autumn and occasionally give her a mint! On the odd occasion we have stopped off at a pub for a naughty cider!! (Lynne makes me! 🤔) When we have, everyone swarms around for a cuddle. Autumn is becoming quite the local celebrity! Have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone.

Today Autumn came in on 3 legs!! Unable to put her front left hoof on the floor. Just an aweful thing to witness!! It became clear that she had pulled her shoe, twisted it and stood on it, embedding it in her sole, thankfully missing her frog! I have a truely skilled farrier who came out straight away, now farriers are not cheap and that is because you are paying for years of training, skill and studying the complex anatomy of hoofs, legs, tendons and muscles. Moral of this is you pay for what get, Autumn's care comes at a cost but one i am happy to pay as a responsible and very proud owner (I hate the word owner, she is part of the family!) After treatment and a day in her stable she is sound. Autumn was pleased to see him this morning she called out to him and waved her leg at him when he arrived. 😂

Moor fires, this is Marsden Moor after a huge fire, still smoldering away! I dread to think how many ground nesting birds and animals have perished! Thankfully we have had some rain this evening, mizzly rain as we say around here, not quite proper rain, which is perfect. To much rain with such dry moors will cause flooding. Here is hoping the rain does it's job.

I am so proud of Autumn today. We went out for hack into Marsden, and we were stopped by a mum and dad asking if their little 5 year boy could say hello to her. Now normally Autumn doesn't like to standstill and jigs about but today she stood perfectly. The mum said her son was autistic and none verbal. So his dad picked him up and their beautiful son got super giddy, arms waving everywhere and the biggest smile! He stroked Autumns face and let out an excited yell and laugh! Both parents looked shocked and burst into tears, that was the first time they had heard his voice! Once they told me that I was in tears too! After a very emotional chat with the parents we went on our way. We then bumped into a young lady in a wheelchair who wanted to say hello, we stopped and Autumn put her head down so she could stroke her face. I am super proud of her, horses are so intuitive especially Autumn. She never stops surprising me.

What a fabulous day at the stables. Up early doors, a 2 hour play out around Slaithwaite, or as we say around here 'Sla'wit! We went across the valley, by the reservoir, on the canal and back through the woods! As we were out we came across 3 tiny foals, with a watchful mare taking care of them. I have always pondered on putting her in foal but I never wanted to run the risk of losing her and not sure I could cope with Autumn.2! 🤣 Several hours of paddock maintenance and home for a cuddle with Jango! I hope you are all having a fab weekend.

Trying to shower a stroppy 650kg mare who hates rain has it's challenges! I think I ended up more drenched than she did! Full service and MOT for Autumn today!! Not looking bad for 22 years old, she is as fit as a flea. Have an amazing weekend everyone.

Day 1 of much needed short holiday break all by myself! Horse hospital all sorted, vet called and attending to Autumn tomorrow morning, her lump is getting it's own gravitational pull!!! Antihistamines aren't touching it! I might have been a naughty minx and bought a new pair of Ariat riding boots, they are the softest leather and the most amazing fit for my skinny pins. No one tell Mr W, if he asks they cost a fiver! 🤣 Back home to do my bit and voted. Tomorrow, after vet visit, is a full day of field maintenence, fencing and ragworting.
